A recent stay at Batemans Bay Holiday Resort left us with mixed feelings.
We recently stayed at the NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort. While there were some positive aspects to the experience, we also encountered a few challenges that need to be considered by future guests. This short review will cover both the pros and cons of the resort, focusing on the proximity of caravan parking sites and the convenience of on-site cabins.
But first, let’s start with the positive aspects of the NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort. The location is undeniably beautiful, offering a tranquil setting with scenic bay views. The resort itself is generally well-maintained, with a range of facilities and amenities that make it a desirable destination for a relaxing getaway, and it’s pet-friendly.
Standout Features
One of the standout features of the resort is the availability of on-site cabins. These cabins are perfect for guests who do not have caravans or prefer a more traditional accommodation option. They are comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, providing a cosy and convenient stay for those who prefer not to camp.
However, we must address a significant issue we encountered during our stay—the spacing and layout of the powered concrete slab caravan parking sites. The sites are uncomfortably close together, which can be a problem for those with large caravans or those who are not particularly experienced in manoeuvring them. The laneway leading to the concrete padded powered sites is far from spacious enough, making it challenging to park and manoeuvre large caravans in and out of these sites. This created a sense of crowding and lack of privacy among the guests.
On the other hand, the grassed powered sites afforded far more room and even had generous spacing between large deciduous trees that provided ample shade on those hot summer days.
Limited Space
It’s important to note that the resort staff were generally friendly and accommodating, and they offered assistance when needed. Nevertheless, it’s a crucial consideration for guests to be aware of the limited space and potentially tricky manoeuvring conditions when bringing a large caravan to the NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort.
In conclusion, the NRMA Batemans Bay Holiday Resort has its merits, particularly its location and the convenience of on-site cabins for those without caravans. However, the closely packed caravan sites and the challenges of manoeuvring large caravans on the concrete pads can be a downside for some guests. If you value a peaceful environment and are looking for a comfortable cabin stay, this resort might be a great choice. But if you plan to bring a large caravan, request a site inspection to ensure your caravan will fit, and it’s essential to be prepared for cramped parking and manoeuvring challenges.
