Review: Revtek UHF Handpiece Mount for Isuzu D-Max & MU-X Gen3
When you’re setting up a touring rig, it’s often the small details that make the biggest difference to comfort, safety, and practicality. The Revtek UHF handpiece mount for the Isuzu D-Max and MU-X Gen3 is one of those little gems that blends factory-fit looks with genuine real-world convenience.

Design & Fitment
The mount clips neatly into the bottom central air vent and is available in both left-hand and right-hand variants. In our test vehicle, we opted for the driver’s side version to keep the UHF within easy reach while on the road.
Made from durable black plastic, the mount blends seamlessly into the Isuzu’s interior. The finish matches well with the factory trim, so it doesn’t look like an afterthought. The dual-tab clip design locks the mount securely into place without the need for screws, glue, or drilling — just a firm push and it’s home.
And here’s the clever bit: although it sits in the air vent slot, it doesn’t interfere with airflow. The bottom three vent grills aren’t connected to the ducting, so your air-conditioning remains unaffected.

Compatibility
Revtek has designed the unit to work with both GME and Uniden handpiece cradles, so whether you run one of the Aussie-made GME sets or a Uniden unit, the mount will accept it. The positioning feels natural, keeping the radio mic close at hand without cluttering the dash.
Installation & Removal
Fitting the mount couldn’t be simpler — it took us only a few moments. Just as importantly, the mount can be removed at any time without damaging the vent or requiring tools. That’s a big win if you like your rig to look stock when you sell or upgrade.

Touring Practicality
Out on the tracks, good comms can make or break a convoy run. Whether you’re calling instructions over the UHF in a dusty outback convoy or spotting someone through a tight creek crossing, having the handpiece mounted securely and within reach makes life easier — and safer.
We found the driver’s side location ideal, as it meant no awkward reaching across the dash when conditions demanded quick communication. It’s one of those simple mods that adds polish to your touring setup, and once it’s in, you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.
Buying Experience
In the interest of fair disclosure, we purchased the unit for the purpose of this review. Delivery was prompt and the mount arrived in a reasonable timeframe. Out of the box, the quality was clear — no rough edges, just a tidy, well-finished piece.

Verdict
Revtek’s UHF handpiece mount is a practical, tidy, and well-priced addition for any D-Max or MU-X owner setting up their vehicle for touring. It looks factory, fits securely, doesn’t interfere with the vents, and can be removed without hassle. Most importantly, it makes staying in touch on the road or track safer and more convenient.
