IVECO Daily keeps Squily’s Moto — and its riders — in the power band
For regional motorcycle riders, a breakdown can quickly become more than an inconvenience. It can mean a ruined weekend, a missed event, or a long wait for help. For Squily’s Moto, the answer is a new IVECO Daily 35S van that works as a mobile workshop, recovery vehicle, delivery van and everyday business tool.

Motorcyclists are a wonderfully optimistic bunch. We will plan a ride across half the countryside, happily trust the weather forecast even when we know better, and convince ourselves that the faint noise coming from somewhere near the back wheel is probably nothing.
But when something does go wrong, especially in a regional area, good help is worth its weight in gold.
That is where Squily’s Moto has built its reputation. Based around service, repair, rebuilds, restorations, accessory fitment and event support, the boutique motorcycle business has become the sort of operation riders remember when things go right — and call when things go wrong.
Owner John Lizamore first started repairing motorcycles as a hobby, helping friends keep their bikes on the road. Over time, that hobby grew into something more serious. John retrained to secure his mechanical qualifications, and with the support of his wife Stephanie, Squily’s Moto has continued to expand.

Squily’s Moto’s IVECO Daily 35S has become a mobile workshop, recovery vehicle, delivery van and everyday business vehicle in one.
Emergency Recoveries
Today, the business handles everything from full nut-and-bolt restorations to general servicing, motorcycle event support and emergency recoveries. John has also been known to travel big distances to assist stranded riders, and more recently, Squily’s Moto was appointed as a local dealer for motorcycle brands including Thumpstar and Rieju, as well as Segway ATVs.
With that sort of workload, a ute was always going to have its limits.
John needed a vehicle that could do more than carry tools. He needed something that could transport bikes safely, recover broken-down machines, tow with confidence, carry parts and equipment, and still be comfortable enough for long days on poor regional roads.
The solution was an IVECO Daily 35S 16m³ van.
“There were very few vans available that were suitable for what I wanted — the Daily ticked all of the boxes for me,” John said.
For the rider, that matters. A van like the Daily means Squily’s Moto can offer a more complete service, whether that is collecting a motorcycle for repairs, delivering a new machine, supporting riders at events, or helping recover a bike that has decided its day is finished before the rider has.

Squily’s Moto owner John Lizamore says the IVECO Daily 35S ticked all the boxes for his growing motorcycle service and repair business.
Low Chassis Height
One of the biggest advantages is ease of loading. The Daily’s low chassis height and electronically controlled rear air suspension allow the rear of the van to be lowered by around eight centimetres, making it easier and safer to load motorcycles and ATVs.
“The Daily has a low chassis height and with the rear electronically-controlled airbags, you can further lower the height by around eight centimetres to make loading and unloading motorbikes and ATVs easier,” John said.
“And when the van is empty you also get a much more comfortable drive — we have a lot of poor roads around here.”
That might sound like a benefit for the operator, and it is, but it also has a direct benefit for the customer. Easier loading means less drama, less risk and a more professional recovery or transport process. For anyone who has watched a motorcycle being wrestled up a steep ramp, this is not a small thing.
The standing-height roof is another practical advantage. It gives John more room to move inside the van, making it easier to access tools, parts and equipment, while also helping make motorcycle loading and securing safer.
“The standing height roof makes it much more comfortable and safer to get motorcycles on board and to access any tools we need as well,” he said.
Motorcycles and ATVs are loaded using removable ramps, while larger equipment can be brought aboard with the help of an onboard winch. That flexibility is important in a regional business, where the job might involve a trail bike one day, an ATV the next, and a ride-on mower, auger or other piece of small machinery after that.

With its standing-height roof and generous 16m³ cargo area, the IVECO Daily gives Squily’s Moto room for tools, parts and motorcycles.
Standard Bike
For riders, the advantage is simple: Squily’s Moto now has a vehicle that can come to them, collect their machine, support them at an event, or help get a stranded bike back to the workshop without relying on a patchwork of trailers and guesswork.
The Daily also gives John more confidence when towing. Powered by a 180hp and 430Nm engine matched to an eight-speed fully automatic transmission, the IVECO Daily 35S offers a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity.
“With the utility, hooking up to our tandem trailer raised concerns that we’d be close to the legal tow limit; with the Daily there are no worries and it tows so much better than the ute,” John said.
That towing capacity gives Squily’s Moto more options. It means a trailer can be used when required, without the same concern about being right on the limit. It also gives the business the ability to move motorcycles, ATVs and equipment with more confidence.
Fuel economy was another important factor. Small businesses do not run on fresh air, and regional service work can involve big distances. John said the Daily has proven affordable to operate, including regular runs to Perth to collect new motorcycles.
“We will often drive it to Perth to pick up new motorcycles, and this is a 1400 kilometre round trip — it doesn’t cost that much in fuel,” he said.
The buying experience also left a strong impression. John praised Perth IVECO and sales consultant Craig Maddox for helping match the vehicle to the needs of the business.
“Craig had outstanding product knowledge — he listened to what we needed and made excellent recommendations,” John said.
“He also helped organise our signwriting; I’d tried to do this locally but was getting mucked around, Craig organised it for us in an afternoon — he went above and beyond for us.”
For Squily’s Moto, the IVECO Daily 35S is not just a van with a bit of signwriting down the side. It is part mobile workshop, part recovery vehicle, part delivery unit and part rolling insurance policy for riders who need practical support when their machine needs attention.
And for motorcyclists, that is the real benefit. Whether it is a service, a rebuild, a new bike delivery, event support or a recovery from the side of the road, Squily’s Moto now has the right tool for the job.
Because when you are a long way from home and the bike goes quiet, the most important vehicle on the road might not be the one you rode there on — it might be the van coming to get you.

With 180hp, 430Nm and a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, the Daily gives Squily’s Moto confidence on long trips and towing jobs.
