HD LED headlamp replacement
We chose the black LED Headlight option to match our vivid black Fatboy-Lo. The new light really enhances the cool custom look of this bike.

Black Harley-Davidson LED headlamp
The sales literature headline reads, the HD LED headlamp replacement will; “cut through the night”.
The Harley-Davidson LED headlamps certainly do that. They are brighter and whiter in color and provide a far superior light pattern over standard incandescent lamps. Compared to the yellow light of a traditional halogen bulb, the LED lamp produces a “Daylight Color Impression” that appears more natural to the user.
Headlamps feature two horizontal “D” shaped lenses that focus light into a wide pool in front of the motorcycle. They include separate high beam and low beam projector lenses that provide a focused beam of light way out in front.
For touring models there are also 4-inch LED Auxiliary Lamps. These feature 3 “D” shaped lenses that focus the light, and provide a matching appearance to the LED headlamps.

Installing the new LED headlamp
The solid-state LEDs are designed for long life. They come with shock-and vibration-resistant lamp assembly and mount into existing light housings.
Installation is quick and easy, and the plug-in lamps connect to the factory headlamp wiring. No external ballast or complicated wire harness is required as you can see in the installation video below.

The difference between the standard headlamp and new LED headlamp
In this video below we demonstrate how to install the new HD LED headlamp onto a Harley-Davidson Fatboy. The same principle is transferable to other Harley-Davidson models.
