It’s a little after 8 pm at the Alivio Tourist Park Canberra. I’m sitting at the table inside my caravan, trying to complete an article for next week’s deadline. Instead, I now know how Banjo Paterson felt when he penned his famous poem, “Clancy of the Overflow … And the language uninviting of the gutter children fighting, Comes fitfully and faintly through the ceaseless tramp of feet.”
So, instead, I penned this review on the park.
Our recent stay at Alivio Tourist Park Canberra was a mix of pleasant experiences and a few significant drawbacks. On the positive side, the park’s staff were friendly and helpful, making the booking and check-in processes smooth and stress-free. Their warm demeanour made us feel welcome right from the start.
The caravan sites at the park are well-designed, with bitumen drive-through access and concrete awning pads that make parking our vehicle a breeze. The facilities throughout the park were clean and well-maintained, adding to the comfort of our stay. What’s more, the park’s close proximity to city attractions was a major plus, allowing us to easily explore the vibrant city of Canberra.
However, our stay was marred by the lack of control over children in the park. Late at night, groups of children were allowed to run rampant, yelling loudly and careering through the caravan sites. This disrupted the peace and even led to some of our belongings being knocked over. The situation was particularly concerning when children, riding scooters without lights, darted across the park’s roadways in front of vehicles, creating a dangerous situation for both drivers and pedestrians.
Control Unruly Behaviour
It is crucial that park management take more proactive measures to control unruly behaviour. Especially around the roadways where vehicles are manoeuvring. Addressing this issue would not only improve the experience for all guests but also ensure a safer and more comfortable environment for everyone.
Overall, our stay at Alivio Tourist Park Canberra was a mix of pleasant experiences and a few significant drawbacks. While there are many positives about the park, such as the friendly staff, well-designed caravan sites, and close proximity to city attractions, however these issues with children’s behaviour need to be addressed to ensure a truly enjoyable stay for all. Be aware that the internet service within the site is extremely slow.
